Week 13 COFFS HARBOUR

10/8/22 - 16/8/22

Papírové krabice let zvládly a na páse nám vyjely jako první. Bylo 10 večer a protože byl náš hotel jenom 15 minut pěšky, hodili jsme je na letištní vozík a do hotelu se prošli. 

Další den brzo ráno Benji zaběhnul pro auto do půjčovny a v půl 7 už jsme vyjížděli od hotelu. Charlinku jsme přenesli v polospánku a ještě dvě hodinky si v autě pospala. Úspěšně jsme se tak vyhli špičce, která v Sydney muže být i na několik hodin.

Do Coffs jsme přijeli tak akorát na oběd. Na víkend jsme byli u Benjiho rodičů. Už tam byli Tim i Nomi, oba v plné polní. Ještě, že mají docela velký dům, 8 dospělých a 3 děti se tak akorát vešli. Nikdo ani nemusel spát na gauči!

Pauzu s rodinou jsme si užili, hodně jsme si povídali a pili víno. Běžnou aktivitou bylo přehazování dětí na babču a dědu. Když měli čas, hráli si s vnoučaty a vzali je na procházku a mamky a taťkové si mohli dát pauzu.

Naomi zorganizovala focení pro Juliette a Davida, protože mít všechna vnoučata pod jednou střechou je vzácné a chtěli na to mít památku. Vznikly z toho hezké fotky, které budeme asi ještě léta vídat na chodbě u Lawových doma.

Během víkendu jsme dokonce zvládli snídani s Charlie a Lowi a jejich malou Ninou, a večeři s Chrisem (kterému Charlinka říká strejda Christmas) a Ellie. Bylo fajn se vidět s kamarády! 

Sociální aspekt nám na cestách docela chybí. Přestože jsme poznali spoustu nových tváří, s málokým z nich se znovu uvidíme.

Uteklo nám to jako voda a v úterý ráno jsme už zase byli na cestě vstříc naší další etapě.

Paper boxes made it through and were the first to arrive at the conveyor belt. 

It was 10 in the evening and since our hotel was only a 15-minute walk away, we threw them on the airport cart and walked.

The next day, early in the morning, Benji ran to the rental company to get the car, and we left the hotel at half past seven. I carried Charlinka half asleep into the car and she slept for another two hours. We thus successfully avoided the peak hour, which in Sydney can mean getting stuck for ages.

The plan was to stay with Benji's parents for the long weekend. Tim and Naomi were already there, both with their little families. 

Lucky the house is big, 8 adults and 3 children fit just fine. No one even had to sleep on the couch!

We enjoyed the break with the family, we talked a lot and drank wine. A common theme was passing children onto grandma and grandpa. When they had time, they played with their grandchildren and took them for a walk, and moms and dads could take a break.

Naomi organized a photo shoot for Juliette and David as having all the grandchildren under one roof is rare and they wanted to have a memory of it. It resulted in some nice photos that we will probably see in the hallway at the Law family's house for years to come.

Over the weekend we even managed breakfast with Charlie and Lowi and their little Nina, and dinner with Chris (who Charlinka calls Uncle Christmas) and Ellie. It was nice to see friends! We quite miss the social aspect when traveling. Although we met a lot of new faces along the way, I don't think we will see many of them again.

Our time in Coffs was up and on Tuesday we set off towards our next big adventure, Canada!
