Week 23 EYRE PENINSULA

19/10/22 - 25/10/22

Po přejezdu Nullarbor jsme si naplánovali 3 noci v krásném Airbnb s krbem a výhledem na zátoku Coffin Bay.

Tři dny před tím jsme chtěli kempovat podél západního pobřeží poloostrova Eyre, jen tak na divoko. 

Počasí bylo ale tak špatné, že jsme už zase museli změnit plány.

Musím přiznat, že tenhle neustálý útěk před deštěm a zimou začíná být dost únavný. I místní se diví, co je to letos s počasím. Už mělo byt dávno teplo a jaro v plném proudu!

Plán B bylo Airbnb v Port Lincoln. Tři dny tam, pak další tři dny v Airbnb v Coffin Bay. Prej kempování v autě! Snažíme se tomu smát, ale pravda je, že se nám cestovní rozpočet s takovou rychle rozkutálí.

Týden v okolí Port Lincoln jsme si užili. Hodně jsme jezdili po okolí, navštěvovali místní pláže a dětská hřiště. Několikrát jsme zašli na vnitřní bazén, a taky jsme si konečně uklidili v autě.

Po několika měsících jsme se zase potkali s Higinsovýma. Ti jsou v Port Lincoln až do Vánoc! Bouchnul jim motor auta, a tak se tady usadili a poslali tátu na pár měsíců vydělávat. Holky si to spolu moc užily a taťkové se jeden večer opili ginem. 

V pondělí jsme se posunuli z Port Lincoln do města Whyalla. Tam jsme zakotvili na noc z čisté praktického důvodu - ve středu ráno jsem musela k doktorovi.

Ale o tom zase v příštím týdnu!

Reunited

After crossing the Nullarbor we planned to spend 3 nights in a beautiful Airbnb with a fireplace overlooking Coffin Bay.

Three days before that, we wanted to camp along the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula, for free.

But the weather was so bad that we had to change our plans again. I have to admit that this constant running away from the rain and cold is getting pretty tiring. Even the locals wonder what's up with the weather this year. It should have been warm and spring in full swing by now!

Plan B was an Airbnb in Port Lincoln. Three days there, then another three days at an Airbnb in Coffin Bay. Can we still call it car camping? Hardly. We try to laugh about it, but the truth is, our travel budget is running out faster than expected. 

Our week around Port Lincoln went by fast. We drove around a lot, visiting local beaches and playgrounds. In their indoor pool we almost became members, and we also finally cleaned up the car.

After a few months, we met the Higginses again. They are in Port Lincoln until Christmas! Their car engine blew, so they settled here and sent dad to earn money for a few months.

The girls had a lot of fun together and the dads got drunk on gin one evening.

On Monday we moved from Port Lincoln to the town of Whyalla. We anchored there for the night for a purely practical reason - I had to go to see a doctor on Wednesday morning.
