Musím přiznat, ze se nám ubytování v chaloupce s krbem a výhledem na moře opouštělo těžce.
Předpověď na příštích pár týdnů vypadala bídně! Samý déšť a zima. Kdo by čekal, že v říjnu v Austrálii budeme vytahovat bundy a teplé ponožky?
Z Albany jsme zamířili na sever a udělali si zastávku na kafe na vyhlídce v pohoří Stirling Range. Před ledovým větrem jsme se rychle museli schovat, a kafe si nakonec vypít v autě.
Jednu noc jsme přespali někde na půl cesty mezi Albany a Esperance, v kempu zdarma u dálnice.
Další den jsme konečně dojeli do Esperance. Místní karavan park nebyl nic moc, ale to nám vůbec nevadilo. Veškerý čas jsme strávili na nádherných plážích, o které tady rozhodně nemají nouzi.
Pláž Blue Haven jsme si tak oblíbili, že jsme se tam vrátili hned další den ráno.
Benji se šel potápět a na večeři nám tak připravil velmi pestré menu - humra, rybu a ještě mušle abaloni.
My s Charlinkou jsme mezitím postavily super hrad z písku.
Tu noc jsme spali v kempu jen asi hodinu cesty od Esperance.
Nullarbor crossing je úsek cesty podél jižního pobřeží mezi městy Norseman a Ceduna. Je dlouhý přibližně 1200 km a dokonce obsahuje rovný úsek 146 km dlouhý!!! Když po hodině a půl vidíte konečně zatáčku, pomalu si ji chcete vyfotit!
Mysleli jsme, že nám přejezd zabere 4 dny, ale nakonec jsme to zvládli za 2.
Nejen, že je to pustá krajina bez měst, pláží, hor, lidí, či jakýchkoliv jiných zajímavostí. Všudypřítomná hejna much nás poháněla kupředu rychleji, než jsme předpokládali.
Fowlers bay byla naše první zastávka v civilizaci. Kemp přímo u vody měl uvolněnou atmosféru, sprchy i záchody a super park pro děti. Za $25 patří rozhodně k těm levnějším!
Hned vedle kempu se nacházely jedny z největších písečných dun v okolí. I když
se sbíralo na bouřku, nedalo nám to, a vyběhli jsme si nahoru na rychlou procházku.
Přestože jsme zmokli, stálo to za to. Charlie si válení sudů celou cestu zpátky náramně užila!
Mysleli jsme, že si úsek do Port Lincoln rozdělíme, a na pár dní ještě prozkoumáme západní pobřeží poloostrova Eyre.
Počasí nám ale nepřálo. Co se dá dělat, zase jsme museli ustoupit matce přírodě a schovat se v Airbnb.
Jako nejlepší volba se zdál být Port Lincoln. Je to největší město na poloostrově a tak se tam i ve špatném počasí nějak zabavíme!
Nakonec jsme v jižním cípu poloostrova strávili celkem 7 nocí, ale o tom zase příští týden!

I have to admit that it was hard to leave the accommodation in the cottage with a fireplace and a view of the sea.
The forecast for the next few weeks looked bleak! Just rain and cold. Who would have thought we'd be pulling out the jackets and warm socks in October in Australia?
From Albany we headed north and stopped for coffee at a lookout in the Stirling Range. We quickly had to hide from the icy wind, and ended up drinking the coffee in the car.
We slept one night somewhere halfway between Albany and Esperance, at a free campsite by the highway.
The next day we finally reached Esperance. The local caravan park wasn't much, but that didn't bother us at all. We spent all our time on the local wonderful beaches.
We liked Blue Haven Beach so much that we returned there the very next morning. Benji went diving and prepared us a very diverse menu for dinner - lobster, fish and even abalone.
In the meantime, Charlinka and I built a super sandcastle. That night we slept in a campsite only about an hour away from Esperance.
The Nullarbor crossing is a stretch of road along the southern coast approximately between the towns of Norseman and Ceduna. It is roughly 1200 km long and even includes a straight section 146 km long!!! When you finally see a turn after an hour and a half, you nearly want to take a picture of it!
We thought it would take us 4 days to cross, but we ended up making it in 2.
Not only is it a desolate landscape without cities, beaches, mountains, people, or any other attractions. The ever-present swarm of flies propelled us forward faster than we anticipated.
Fowlers bay was our first stop in civilization. The campsite right by the water had a relaxed atmosphere, showers and toilets and a great park for children. At $25, it's definitely one of the cheaper ones!
Right next to the campsite were some of the biggest sand dunes in the area. Although it was gathering for a storm, we couldn't help ourselves, and ran up for a quick look around. Although we got wet on the way back, it was worth it. Charlie had a blast rolling the barrels all the way down!
We thought we would split the trip to Port Lincoln and explore the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula for a couple of days.
Yet again, the weather was not in our favour. What can be done, we had to give in to mother nature and hide in an Airbnb.
Port Lincoln seemed to be the best choice. It is the largest city on the peninsula, so even in bad weather we can have some fun there!
We ended up spending a total of 7 nights in the southern tip of the peninsula, but more on that next week!
